Asian Voices on Synod on Synodality
Synod on synodality calls us for listening together, discerning together, praying together. The word ‘together’ is very important in a culture of exclusion.
“Synodality is primarily an attitude, not a system or a structure. It begins from one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then freely, naturally, automatically manifests itself through one’s dedication to one’s parish, diocese, and the Church.”
The digital channels allow us to reach out, connect, and engage with the faithful in Asia, fostering a spirit of communion and solidarity.
Synod on synodality is creating a culture of travelling together, discussing together, deciding together. This travel reminds that of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. On discovering Jesus in the Eucharist, they return to Jerusalem and experience the Pentecost. The Synod is another way to the Pentecost. We have many difficulties on our journey, but the Synodal way is the only way of experiencing the Pentecost.
